GFX Guidelines
This section is exclusively for Graphic Design, which can include many things such as forum signatures, banners, and avatars. Here you may discuss the design of a piece and give critique on them. You can also make a request of the artist if he or she is taking requests.
GFX or graphic design is all that will be allowed in this subforum. Anything else should be posted in Other Hobbies.
Now for the rules of this section.
1 GFX showcase/request thread allowed per user. Nothing more will be allowed. If you thread will be considered a necro if you do something new, PM a moderator before creating a new thread or bumping an old one.
You must have at least 100 posts to have a GFX showcase/request thread. Any less than that, your thread will be automatically deleted.
You are not allowed to charge anything for completing a request. Whether this is either asking for money, likes, or any other form of payment, it will not be tolerated and punished accordingly. However, you may say that if someone likes your work, they may leave a like in your OP.
Art must be safe for work. In other words, it cant have tons of skin showing or any excessive "adult" content. It must be PG.
Ripping an artist's work will not be tolerated at all.
A thread (GFX showcase/requests) must be approved by a moderator before it can be posted. This is to ensure that the original post follows the rules set forth previously.
Be respectful to all artists by considering their current level. We want to help others improve.
A user may only be in one workshop at a time.
Workshops are the preferred form of request threads,as showcases are there to display.
Q. What is ripping?
A. Many of you may be wondering what is the ripping? Ripping is the practise of taking another person's work and claiming it as your own.
Q. What is considered Ripping?
A. Generaly anything that involves the unauthorized use of another person's work and claiming it as your own. This can include:
-Simple edits to ones art
-The use of copyrighted material and claiming it as your own work
-Claiming the render you used is your own (this includes C4 renders and rendered graphics)
-Altering a PSD file and using individual layers as your own
Q. What is not considered ripping
A. The use of free resources such as tutorials, graphics, ideas, etc.
Using anything on the Resources section on dA is not ripping.
Taking ideas is not ripping.
Following PSD's step by step without taking layers from it is not ripping.
Failure to follow these rules will result in warning points and/or possible banishment from the forums. Ripping will result in a permanent ban from the forums, possibly an IP ban, depending upon the severity of the case.
